"In 1991, at her first world championships, she earned three medals, including the gold on floor. To win that title, she mounted with a full-twisting double layout -- a move so difficult that it was named after her. It's still considered so hard that Biles, the favorite to win the 2016 Olympic title on floor, will use the same skill in her first tumbling pass -- 25 years later."

This woman's legend just keep growing... 41 years of age, 6 Olympic Games, 10 World Championships, 13 Olympic and World medals (competing under 5 different flags, including the CIS and Unified Team), 10 individual medals on vault (more than anyone else on a single event), 5 eponymous skills (two -- the "Rudi" and the FTDLO - of which are still considered top difficulty in today's gymnastics era) and a senior elite career that has spanned over 27 years. She competes at this age simply for herself, her family (one of the best stories in gymnastics was Oksana's desire to support her son Alisher's leukemia treatment), and her absolute love for the sport. No gymnast has been braver and has done more of the unthinkable. She is a legend beyond what our minds can even comprehend.
I thought she was crazy (awesome) in Bejing where she won the silver medal. It's even crazier to think that -- 8 years later -- she has as good of a chance as ever to win her third Olympic medal this upcoming Sunday! I hope she lands her Produnova like a boss and performs that gorgeous, clean DTT to the best of her ability (my favorite vault of hers).
She could do the impossible... but what really is impossible for her?
