Saw a thread like this on another forum and thought it was interesting. This is also kind of like SDK's thread, but focuses only on seniors. My thoughts:
RUS - Looking forward to more Seda and Melnikova. Good thing Seda's melt down didn't happen in TF, otherwise we probably wouldn't see her on another major team. Hopefully this experience will benefit them in their mental game and consistency. Seda can definitely upgrade. I think she's Russia's best tumbler. I really would like to see both of them become seasoned leaders of Russia throughout next quad.
ROU - I'm sure we'll see Larisa at 2017 Worlds, although I can't imagine any upgrades for her. Hoping she'll maintain what she has under the burdening weight of sh!tty RGF. Bulimar seems to break every year, so I doubt she'll make it further than 2017 Worlds, if that. Jurca definitely has potential according to her 2015 Glasgow results. I definitely would like to see a comeback once she's fully recovered. Ponor will stick around for Europeans, since it'll be in the home country. She'll probably retire after... or take an extended break (we really can't count her out, can we? ;))
CHN - Shang will definitely be back and I have the same feeling about Wang. Hoping Shang gets her individual medals next quad because she's overdue for one in AA and beam. Wang is having such a great Olympics so far. Hope this means she's on the road to more consistency.
JPN - I'd love to see Murakami, Miyakawa, and Teramoto continue to 2020.
GB - Ellie Downie can bring it all next quad especially if she upgrades and gathers some consistency. I haven't heard anything, but my guess is Becky is done after Rio.
BRA - More Andrade PLEASE. She's so capable of snatching a medal next year.
USA - Laurie definitely yes. Gabby is a question mark to me because while I think she's physically capable of continuing, I'm worried that she isn't mentally. Also, isn't her coach Christian leaving Buckeye? Will she follow him? The Gabby Whisperer is retiring so who will be able to whip her into shape come Worlds and beyond?
Any thoughts? Maybe even mention specific possible upgrades for the gymnasts since I'm not as knowledgeable with the code. Feel free to add more gymnasts.
