What's your prediction for Simone's comeback?

It's the last day of Simone's time off - she's back in the gym and with Laurent for the first time tomorrow.

I figured we'd celebrate with a little poll.

Comments (specially of skills/routines/d-values for this code) always welcome.

1988 Seoul Olympic Library--BEST SITE EVER!

At least for me. :D (x-posted from WWGym)

Stumbled upon this gem. Over 5000 photos of our MAG, WAG and Rhythmic gymnasts who competed in Seoul. I must caution you that they are in no particular order if you decide to go through all 578 pages.

Even better? There is video of all the competition, including award ceremonies. But you need to run Internet Explorer to see them. Chrome and Firefox won't work.

You will need to click here first, http://ift.tt/2iPv0pm --click either PHOTO GALLERY or VIDEO GALLERY directly below for pics and vids. (Tiger on a balance beam toward the lower left hand corner) I can't directly link it.

FINALLY, the WAG award ceremony and MAG stuff. Yee-haw!

Dance Magazine columnist praises 1968 Olympics FX gymnasts

While collating my collection of old Dance Magazines, I came across a column by Ann Barzel in the December, 1968 issue. She had some very nice things to say about the gymnasts participating: "The televised Olympics from Mexico City offered some fine near-dancing in the gymnastic competitions. The Russians were balletically graceful and Czech champion Vera Caslavska was stunning in her display of floor exercises. But the real dance talent, which someone should snatch from the jaws of the gymnasium and lead to genuine dance, is little American Cathy Rigby. Coordination and litheness all gymnasts have, but this 15 year old also has grace and an innate beauty of movement. Won't you come and dance, Cathy?" I also remember when the Russian team became such a sensation, and the old "Gymnast" magazine put out some special publications about them (which I still have). Tourischeva was highly praised, and justifiably so, and the writer said that she was a "strikingly beautiful young woman" (with which I agree), but went on to say that after her gymnastics career was over, she "should have a long career in ballet." Well, Luda was a great dancer as a gymnast, but I am afraid that she was just not built for ballet, and this from someone who has always adored T as her favorite gymnast (except for possibly Olga). Anyway, thought you would be interested in what dance writers thought about dance in gymnastics--

2017 Cottbus World Cup - Nov 23-26

The next World Cup seasons starts here.

It's a month away, so I'll be surprised if this roster remains as is. However, lots of other faces for Russia and China and even some US men this time.

Romanian Juinors "2010-2011" Question

Does anyone know the DOB's for former Romanian Juniors Diana Rusu, Andreea Tufa, and Irina Paun? They competed at the 2010 and 2011 Nadia Comaneci Invitational but I can find absolutely no info about them.

Thanks in advance.
