With the World Championships approaching, I thought it might be interesting to look at the womens medal winners over the years from a country perspective, as most of us have a good idea of the most medaled individuals. The following is a list of the medals, per event since the first championship in 1934. (I may or may not finish the men later as they are a giant pain to count pre-1950).
